That is AS400 from IBM. Although discounted by IBM, it is still in production in many places running mission-critical apps. It's far better than the stuff people write today. This is how reliability looks. Why break it when it works?

Better than the stuff people write today? The AS400 is programmed in COBOL. Comparing anything written in COBOL then to anything written in even C now is the most apples-to-oranges shit I've heard in a while.

You've obviously never used one of these systems. They break all the time and every time it does, you have to call the software vendor and pay $150/hour to have them fix it because there's maybe 12 people left on the planet who knows how these things work.
